Fire Giant Hunting Runescape Guide:
Equipment:
For the melee fighter:- Any one handed dragon weapon or halberd
- Rune kite
- Rune plate
- Rune legs
- Helm that best suits you
- Climbing boots
- Any gloves
- Any cape
- Any ring
Notes: They are weak against stabbing attacks so I recommend using a halberd or dagger, abyssal whip or full guthans would be a distinct help, guthans spear has a stab attack (it also heals your health if the special attack kicks in), whip is strong and fast.
For the ranger:Full dragon hide(any, preferably black)Magic bow/crystal bow (I suggest using a short for its special, but you can use any)Arrows(either steel and upwards or ice, you get ice arrows from the temple of ikov quest)
Note: It seems to me that ice arrows are very effective agianst fire foes.
For the mage (I wouldn't recommend using magic againt fire giants), though if you must, use some sort of water spell, iban's blast, or any of the god's spells; Flames of Zamorak, Claws of Guthix, Saradomin Strike.
Locations
Fire giants are spread out widely throughout runescape, they are located in the waterfall, karamja dragon dungeon and in members wilderness lvl 56. They can also be found deep in the Kharidian Desert
Fighting Techniques
Melee
An equipment screen that would be ok, but not reccomended.
A good equipment screen
The might of the Dragon Halberd
For the VERY RICH (25 mill+): - Full Guthans
- Abyssal Whip
- Dragon Square Shield or Crystal Shield
- Sharks
- Prayer Potions(recomended but not needed)
Fight with Guthans on (but not spear!) instead use whip and shield, after you run out of sharks and/or prayer pots, switch to spear.
For the Quite Well Off (6 mill+): - Full rune (kite can be replaced with crystal shield if roving elves is finished)
- Abyssal whip and/or dragon halberd
- Prayer potions (recomended)
- food
Fight with whip/halberd until the giants are no longer aggresive, then find a safe spot (where they cant attack you) and lure them in to kill with the halberd.
For the Above Average player (500k+):- Rune legs
- Rune plate
- Dragon halberd/ rune halberd
- One handed dragon weapon
- food
Same fighting style as above, but fight with dragon weapon until no longer aggresive.
For the Average player (100k+): - rune plate+legs
- dragon dagger
- food
Fight until out of food, go get more food, go back and fight, repeat until satisfied.
Range
How to get Ice Arrows: do the temple of ikov quest, repeat the ice arrow chest search until you have an amount your happy with.
An average inventory
For the VERY RICH (25 mill+): - Dragonhide armour
- crystal/magic bow
- ice/iron/bronze/steel arrows
- robin hood hat
- rangers boots
- steel/iron/bronze knives
Find a safe spot, range for as long as you want.
For the Quite Well Off (6 mill+): - Dragonhide armour
- crystal/ magic bow
- ice/iron/bronze/steel arrows
- robin hood hat
- rangers boots
- steel/iron/bronze knives
Same as above.
For the Above Average player (500k+): - dragonhide armour
- crystal/ magic bow
- ice/iron/bronze/steel arrows
- steel/iron/bronze knives

For the Average player (100k+): - dragonhide armour
- magic bow (I recommend short)
- ice/iron/bronze/steel arrows

Magic
For the VERY RICH (25 mill+): - blood runes/death runes
- water runes
- air staff
- air runes
- water staff
Find a safe spot, cast a WATER spell, mage for as long as you want, switching between staffs when you run out of elemental runes.
For the Quite Well Off (6 mill+): - blood runes/death runes
- water runes
- air staff
- air runes
- water staff
Same as above.
For the Above Average player(500k+): - death runes
- water runes
- air staff
- air runes
- water staff
Same as above.
For the Average player (100k+): - death runes
- water runes
- air staff
- air runes
- water staff
Same as above.
Eventually, if you're lucky, you may get a dragon drop, or get to level 126 combat from trying to get a dragon drop. So whether it be for loot, slayer, combat or fun, happy hunting! |
